The China Badminton Association issued a notice on the 22nd that in the routine nucleic acid test before the start of the Swiss Badminton Open, some players of the Chinese team tested positive. For the sake of protecting the athletes’ bodies, the Chinese Badminton Association decided to withdraw the Chinese team from the Swiss Open.
The Chinese Badminton Association said that it has launched the emergency plan as soon as possible, and will provide the team with full support and guarantee from the aspects of medical treatment, psychology and life.
Earlier in the day, the Badminton World Federation also issued a notice saying that the Chinese Badminton Association reported that a number of athletes were tested positive for the new crown in the latest test, as well as player injuries. Out of consideration for the health of all participating players, the Chinese badminton team Decided to withdraw from the 2022 Yonex Swiss Open.
The BWF also confirmed that in addition to the Chinese team, several players from multiple associations tested positive in pre-arrival and post-arrival tests and were forced to withdraw from the event.
The Swiss Open starts on the 22nd.
