Many free schools are experiencing financial difficulties.
The Felsi (Federation of Free Independent Subsidized Establishments), an education network in which the Plein Air school is part, told us that it had been made aware of the letter sent to the parents of students. “We had to type on the fingers of the school. We said that it was not going at all and that this was not the way it should be done. It was an awkward letter because to say to parents, ‘you can only register if you do this or that’, constitutes an offence”explains Michel Bettens, president of the network.
