Some 1,000 children from Paraguarí who benefit from “Zero Hunger” receive tooth brushing kits

Asuncion, IP Agency.– In an initiative that seeks to promote the comprehensive health of children, the Zero Hunger program is carrying out various actions in the departments of Paraguarí and Presidente Hayes.

On the one hand, 1,000 students from the towns of Ybycuí and Mbuyapey, in Paraguarí, benefited from tooth brushing kits. This action seeks to promote oral hygiene habits from an early age and prevent oral diseases.

In parallel, in the department of Presidente Hayes, specifically in a school in the Mariscal neighborhood of Villa Hayes, nutritional assessments were carried out on schoolchildren. Through the food and nutritional surveillance system (SISVAN), run by USF Monte Sociedad, the weight and height of boys and girls was monitored.

In addition to the assessments, educational talks were held on the importance of consuming iodized salt and a balanced diet. These actions seek to raise awareness among children and their families about the relationship between good nutrition and healthy development.
