This Saturday around 1 p.m., a dramatic road accident occurred in Solre-Saint-Géry (Beaumont), on the Chaussée de Chimay. A motorcyclist was traveling in the direction of Beaumont, following a car. Arrived at the crossroads with rue de Grandrieu, the car took a right towards the center of Solre. Probably surprised by the manoeuvre, the motorcyclist tried to avoid the car but unfortunately hit it.
His motorcycle was swerved to the left, where a second car was coming from the opposite direction. Following the shock, the motorcyclist fell heavily to the ground, inanimate. Despite the immediate help of several motorists, quickly joined by paramedics and an emergency doctor, he might not be saved.
The road was closed to traffic to let the emergency services and the police do their job.
