Samsung announces the opening of registrations for the 10th edition of Solve For Tomorrow in Brazil. The company’s global corporate citizenship program is recognized for encouraging high school students and teachers from public schools across the country to create innovative solutions through the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In this way, Samsung contributes to the advancement of education in Brazil, in addition to assisting in the academic development of young Brazilian students and encouraging the creation of projects capable of improving the health, education, sustainability and well-being of impacted communities.

Those interested in participating in the program can register until the 12th of July through the website. The registered teams must be composed of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 high school students. In addition, a novelty in the 10th edition is that teams can be made up of students from different classes, it being only mandatory that they are all studying the same year.

Each group must create a project under the guidance of a mentoring professor, who teaches a discipline related to the areas of Natural Sciences and/or Mathematics to at least two members of the registered team. The guiding teacher may participate with different teams from the same class or not, as long as they have different projects and different students. Registered groups can also count on a Partner Teacher who, obligatorily, teaches to at least two members of the participating Team, disciplines related or not to the areas of Natural Sciences or Mathematics, as well as the areas of Languages, Codes and their Technologies and Human Sciences and their Technologies.

“Reaching the tenth edition of Solve for Tomorrow Brasil is a source of great pride and responsibility for Samsung. Education is and has always been a pillar of attention and dedication for us. But the 10th edition has a special meaning. We are very excited to see the submitted projects because, each year, we are faced with highly creative prototypes, with enormous market potential and that enable real gains for society as a whole”, says Anna Karina Pinto, Director of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Brazil.

“These are projects aligned with the principles of scientific research and sustainability, and which show the great creative capacity of public school teachers and students”, adds Beatriz Cortese, Executive Director of Cenpec, the organization responsible for the general coordination of Solve for Tomorrow in Brazil . “To help each team perfect and test their idea, the program offers training and mentoring activities. These are actions that have been improved at each edition, contributing to our goal of promoting equity and quality in Brazilian public education”.

Solve For Tomorrow has been in Brazil since 2014 and, in its 9th edition, had a diverse program consisting of webinars, workshops and mentoring to help participants achieve their goals by applying possible improvements to their projects. And in 2022, it registered a 65% increase in the number of students enrolled, compared to the previous year.
