Big dispute about small locomotives at Solothurn-Lebern district court. A Solothurn and a Zurich quarreled over two models. One wanted them, the other didn’t give them out. The two models are a Rhaetian Railway locomotive and an electric cogwheel locomotive from the Schöllenenbahn.
The court ruled in the dispute: the Solothurner must hand out the models and hand them over to the Zurich resident – by April 8th at the latest. If he doesn’t do this, “the Oberamt Solothurn region will be instructed to immediately arrange for the forced release of the model locomotives, if necessary using police force,” as the «Aargauer Zeitung» reported.
If the models are not handed over, a fine of up to 10,000 francs would be possible. In addition, the Solothurn must pay 200 francs in party compensation and bear the court costs of 950 francs.
Railway Association does not know the case
Not only the case is curious, but also the publication of the verdict. Because the decision was published in the Solothurn Official Gazette. Unusual. This is only the case if a judgment cannot be served by post.
Why the Solothurner owned the models and how exactly this came about is also a mystery. Also for the President of the Solothurn Railway Amateurs Association, Erich Landolt.
