Kottayam: Solomon Thomas won gold in the 23rd Kerala State Men and Women Classic Powerlifting Championship held in Kannur. 51-year-old Solomon won the first position by competing for Kottayam district. In the competition held on September 23 in Kannur, the actor competed in Masters 2 and 93 kg category.
Solomon Thomas has already won two golds and one silver at the state level. He had won the gold medal in the Kerala State Classic Bench Press competition organized by the Kerala State Powerlifting Association at Alappuzha on December 11. He also won a silver medal in the Kerala State Classic Powerlifting Championship held at Fort Kochi on July 30, 2022. In addition, the Grand Master also won gold in the 100 kg category in the Kottayam District Pancha Gusti Championship held last October.
Having won gold medal twice in district level body building competition, Solomon Thomas has won gold medal four times in state level wrestling competition during his school-college studies. Solomon’s trainer is Bijinsangi Thiruvananthapuram, who is an Indian powerlifting champion and has received the strongman title many times.
