The Solo Dancing ACTIVITY which took place from Monday (29/4) followingnoon until evening was assessed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) as the best Indonesian event.

At the same time, in the dance and cultural activities commemorating World Dance Day which falls on April 29, he also needs to congratulate the City of Solo on the success of becoming a Creative Cities Network (CCN) from Unesco.

From the records on the official UNESCO website, the city of Solo is one of 55 new cities included in the Creative Cities Network, in the craft and folk art category.

According to Sandiaga, Solo’s success in becoming a UNESCO CCN was the result of a long journey. The city, which has been held by the duo Gibran – Teguh Prakosa for the last three years, has twice failed to become CCN. Only at the end of last year, UNESCO finally included it as part of the world’s creative cities network.

To commemorate World Dance Day 2024 in the city of Solo, various extraordinary dance activities were carried out. Coincidentally, it coincided with the 267th Adeging Mangkunegaran commemoration, so the Dirada Meto heritage dance was also performed.

At the same time, the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarra, for the 18th time, held 24 Hours of Dancing on campus which is based in the Kentingan area, Jebres with the theme “Dancing Scene: Meet, Chat, Travel” for this year.

A total of 131 dance communities with 3000 dancers from many big cities in Indonesia are involved in three main agendas, starting from the Mensri Skena, the 24 Hour Dancing Festival and the 24 Hour Dancers.

“Until dawn (Tuesday, 30/4) various dances will be presented in the ISI Surakarta environment. There are 8 dancers from various cities in Indonesia who perform continuously for 24 hours, along with three musicians who will also play music 24 hours non-stop, ” explained the Chairman of the ISI Surakarta 24 Hour Dancing, Hari Mulyatno.

Dance activities were also held at Solo Safari Park with the theme “Animal Movement” which is a dance inspired by the movements of wild animals. This dance is enough to entertain hundreds of visitors to Bon Bin Solo which has been renovated for the last 2 years.

Meanwhile, Solo Dancing which was held in the courtyard of Solo City Hall, witnessed by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, involved hundreds of children, with various creative dances created by the Heru Mataya art studio.
