Solita Silveyra told how she was chosen to host Big Brother (Video: Controversy in the Bar, America)

Back in 2001, Gran Hermano (Big Brother) landed in Argentina, the reality show created by John de Mol that would revolutionize world television. And, to the surprise of many, the host chosen to carry out the format was none other than Solita Silveyra. “Go ahead my brave ones!” was the phrase that the actress immortalized when greeting the participants. And both her ratings and critics supported her.

The truth is that, invited to Controversy at the bar, this Sunday the heroine of soap operas such as Pobre Diabla or Amor en Custodia remembered what her call for the Telefe program was like and revealed that two established journalists were called before her but rejected the proposal .

“I remember that Bernarda Llorente and Claudio Villarruel were in charge of the channel. And they were looking for a journalist, as had been done in Spain with (Mercedes) Milá. So they were trying to convince Mónica Cahen D’Anvers or Magdalena Ruíz Guiñazú. But they both said no. Then, it occurred to them to call me,” Solita acknowledged.

Magdalena Ruíz Guiñazú and Mónica Cahen D’Anvers were the journalists who rejected Big Brother

And then he was honest: “I had no relationship with the lens. I was used to him filming me, but not to speaking and realizing that behind that lens are people looking at me. So, I asked them to do a test and I did. I remember that I went and bought a divine little bag, I was a stick like that (so thin). And I liked it, so I said ‘maybe’.”

Silveyra also spoke regarding the phrase she authored that marked the program. “When the kids start coming into the house it was a party. I went to sleep with the last one who got into bed and got up with the first one,” she said. But she clarified that she did not like the participants being treated as “lazy.” “Once it occurred to me to say: ‘Forward my brave ones!’ And I remember that Villarruel came and told me: ‘Tomorrow all the media will kill you.’ Call these brave!’ But for me they were brave. “You have to get into that house,” she said.

The actress also referred to the moment when she had to tell Carolina Chiappetta that there had been an attack on the Twin Towers in New York and the participant seemed surprised without really understanding what had happened. “I told him because it was shocking news. But also because it was a downgrade that I had to talk regarding it,” Silveyra explained.

He also remembered the marriage of Gastón Trezeguet and Eleonora González. And he took a moment to remember Silvina Luna, who participated in the 2002 edition of the program. “He was a divine being. He danced El Meneaíto because he ate everything, everything, everything… he was very good. I was with them all day, they were like my children. It was a great challenge, really,” Solita said. And she confirmed that with some of the participants she continued the relationship beyond the reality show. And with respect to Marcelo Corazza, currently investigated by Justice for the crimes of illicit association and corruption of minors, she assured that the news of his accusation was “a huge blow.”

It is worth remembering that, currently, the actress is preparing to return to the theater with Osvaldo Laport with The Force of Affection, a work that will be directed by Corina Fiorillo and Leo Cifelli and will debut in the month of January in a room to be determined in the city of Buenos Aires and with the production of Carlos Rottenberg.
