Local School Receives Technology BoostThanks to Generous Donations
< After a theft earlier this year, Pont Canavese primary school received a much-needed boost to its technological resources thanks to generous donations from community groups. Because of the support of the Workers’ Mutual Aid Society (Soms) and Crai supermarket, who each donated computers, the school has been able to re-vamp its computer lab.
Community Rallies After Theft
The school felt the impact immediately after 16 computers, acquired thanks to Pnrr funds, were stolen on October 22nd. This act of theft sparked outrage among the community who demonstrated their solidarity.
Just weeks after the incident, the school received five computers as a donation from the Crai supermarket. “We approved the contribution shortly after the theft, just waiting to know if a specific model was necessary,” explained Claudio Barinotto, president of Soms, during the delivery of four more computers, bringing the total number of recovered computers to nine.
What specific “technology upgrades” are being sought after for the school?
