Egypt’s squares are preparing to receive demonstrations called by popular factions and political parties in solidarity with Palestine and in support of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in his position rejecting the displacement of the residents of Gaza to Egypt.

The political forces in Egypt have allocated several squares to receive the demonstrators, and it appears that there is a great response to these calls from all segments of the people.

Perhaps the most famous square that will receive the demonstrators is the square in which the monument to the Unknown Soldier was placed, and next to it is the shrine of the late Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, the transit commander in the October 6 War.

News of these demonstrations topped social networking sites in Egypt, with thousands confirming their participation in the demonstration in support of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Over the past two days, demonstrations took place in many cities, from the north to the south of the country, and their organization was supervised by unions, associations, university students and others.

In a press conference in Cairo with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, on Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi renewed his assertion that “the forced displacement of Palestinians cannot be allowed,” adding that if the situation were like that, he “proposes transferring civilians from Gaza to the Israeli Negev desert until… End of military operations.

He also affirmed his confidence that millions of Egyptian people empower him to refuse to displace the Palestinians or liquidate their cause at the expense of Egyptian lands.

This comes at a time when an Egyptian sovereign source responded to the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting the opening of the Rafah crossing, saying that “Egypt will not allow the evacuation of foreigners from the Gaza Strip, and escalation will be met with escalation.”

Message internally and externally

Also, “this rally will be a clear message to everyone that the people of Egypt stand united in defense of the security and interests of their country, and support without borders all the issues of their Arab nation, most importantly the Palestinian issue, and that they will not allow it to be liquidated in any way.”
