Solidarity tax law sent to Iohannis for promulgation – document
How much should OMV Petrom pay
In 2022, OMV Petrom processed 4.24 million tons of crude oil, according to data from its annual report.
That would mean that he has to pay over 1.484 billion lei.
It remains to be seen whether it will be contested by the company.
OMV Petrom achieved a net profit of 10.3 billion lei last year, up 260% compared to the previous year when it earned only 2.86 billion lei.
Another change targets companies like Black Sea Oil & Gas who had to pay a huge tax because they had no production in previous years. Well, they will be exempt. The law specifies: “taxpayers who in the period 2018-2021 did not obtain production from the respective fields do not owe the solidarity contribution.”
The law has been sent to the president for promulgation.
We remind you that the Government wrote the Solidarity Tax Ordinance badly.
