The National Government, headed by President Gustavo Petro, announced the end of the Solidarity Income program of the Department of Social Prosperity, which helped nearly 4 million families in vulnerable conditions throughout the country. Until December 2022, the DPS made the last payments, however if there are pending payments, they can still be claimed by the beneficiaries as reported by Social Prosperity.
“From December 7 to 30, 2022, the delivery corresponding to payments 32 and 33 of the Solidarity Income program was made. Banked households in Solidarity Income received the transfer from December 22 to December 30, 2022″, reported the DPS in its official media.
The Solidarity Income program was born as an initiative to help solve the economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. in vulnerable homes throughout the Colombian territory. At the time, the program prioritized households registered in extreme poverty in Sisbén IV (Group A). Also, 64.13% of the households that received the monetary transfer are represented by female heads of household.
500 bonus
Since last year, President Gustavo Petro together with the Department of Social Prosperity have announced the launch of a new solidarity bond of $500,000 pesos. However, there is still no information on the form of payment, the beneficiaries and the dates of the same. “Through a bonus, which instead of $80,000, becomes $500,000 and makes it possible for the old man who is not pensioned today to overcome the poverty line”, previously assured the President of the Republic during a press conference, in which he stated that the investment would be 200 million pesos.
