Solidarity Adventurers Rally: Join Helen Tait Wright in the Ultimate Charitable Rally for Cancer Research

After participating in two Moroccan rallies, called the Aïcha des gazelles Rallies in 2019 and 2021, in order to contribute to a charitable cause, Helen Tait Wright, an Englishwoman living in Cersay since 2005, opted in September 2022 for the Solidarity Adventurers Rally. She repeats the operation on September 25.

A rally different from the Aïcha des gazelles Rally?

Helen Tait Wright : « Somewhat. It is in fact a rally where the funds collected are 100% paid for cancer research, including 70% to the University Hospital of Poitiers and 30% for a research association in Morocco. Next September 25, I’m leaving for this same rally, with my teammate Marcella Kirk, an English friend. However, this second rally might not be done without significant aid to the Moroccan victims. »

Concretely, how does it translate?

« Yves Tartarin, the organizer of the rally, a former Dakar driver, is organizing a collection of clothes and shoes which will be put in bags and stored in the vehicles. All this will be deposited at the Jurassic Inn in Errachidia which will take care of the logistics for transport to Marrakech. On the other hand, the Lalla Salma foundation will establish contact with a local public utility association which will provide a list of additional needs, medical and other, in order to respond accurately to the needs. »

A difficult test?

“The Rally of Solidarity Adventurers is a test of regularity and not speed. Competitors will be equipped with a roadbook, a GPS and a geolocation beacon which will allow them to be followed at all times. Departure for the first stage on September 30, for eight days of racing planned. »
