Soleymi Caraballo and Raiber Rodríguez achieved a place on the podium in Budapest

This weekend Venezuelan wrestlers Soleymi Caraballo and Raiber Rodríguez won a place on the podium. Both athletes already qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games saw action in the memorial Imre Polyak & Janos Varga de Budapest.

With just over a month to go before the world’s biggest sporting event takes place, this competition served as a training ground for the locals to fine-tune details and thus continue preparing for the event, in order to arrive in the best possible condition.

Caraballo who participated in the 68 kilograms of freestyle wrestlingwon the silver medal following losing the final match to Turkey’s representative Buse Tosun by 2-0.

As for Raiber Rodríguez, the Creole wrestler won the bronze medal in the 60 kilogram Greco-Roman wrestling category. The Barinese advanced to the repechage round and managed to climb to the third step of the podium following beating the Romanian Razván Arnut by 12-4.

Both Caraballo and Rodríguez are two of the four Venezuelan wrestlers who have their ticket under their arm for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. In addition to them, Betzabeth Arguello will be present at the Parisian event in the 53 kilograms, as well as Anthony Montero in the 74 kilograms, both in freestyle.
