Bassino leads in Soldeu with the best time – Gut-Behrami is ninth as the best Swiss woman

With Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia and Petra Vlhova, three favorites are missing in Soldeu. That’s why Lara Gut-Behrami is at the start. The Ticino woman is in ninth place following the first 30 drivers. The second run is available here in the live ticker from 1:30 p.m.

At the giant slalom in Soldeu in Andorra, Lara Gut-Behrami doesn’t go as planned. The Swiss only took 9th place in the first run.

The Ticino woman, who has already won three giant slaloms this season and came second twice, continually lost time to the leader Marta Bassino from Italy and crossed the finish line 61 hundredths behind. In the race with close gaps, Gut-Behrami is half a second shy of the podium.

Behind Bassino, who has never been on a giant slalom podium this season, is compatriot Federica Brignone, who is only three hundredths behind. New Zealand’s Alice Robinson takes third place, eleven hundredths behind.

Of the three other Swiss women who started in the top 30, Camille Rast was the best. Thanks to a strong final section, she finished 15th. Simone Wild and especially Mélanie Meillard have to worry regarding taking part in the second run.

The American Mikaela Shiffrin, who is still injured following her crash in Cortina and has to take a break, was not at the start in Soldeu. (sda)
