Sold everywhere in France, this mower can hurt you if you use it

Be careful if you own a Honda brand mower. The latter is recalling two of its models, alerts the government site RappelConso. As can be seen on the recall sheet published on Friday, the two models in question bear the references HRX537C5/C6 and HRN536C/C1.

The mowers are being recalled due to a defect that may pose a risk of injury to the user. “The engine may be very difficult to start (due to) the undersized size of the decompression valve hole on the camshaft which may cause the starter to kick back suddenly,” the recall states. Thus, if a person pulls on the starter rope, it can “suddenly retract and cause injuries to the hand”.

Marketed between July 2022 and May 2023

The products concerned by the recall were “prepared and oiled by a professional from the Honda network”. They were sold throughout France between July 18, 2022 and May 22, 2023. The list of hundreds of stores affected was published by RappelConso.

Honda recommends discontinuing use of these two mower models. If you have one, it is possible to bring it back to the point of sale for repair. A telephone number has been set up for customers, it is 01 60 37 32 56.
