SOHR: 34 members of pro-government forces killed in IS attacks in Syria

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said 34 people, at least eight of them soldiers, were killed in “simultaneous attacks on checkpoints and military positions by the Islamic State group on Wednesday morning” in the Syrian desert. and most others from the National Armed Forces, an irregular army that supports the government.

The attacks took place in areas between Raqqa, Homs and Deir az Zor, added the SOHR, which has an extensive network of sources in Syria.
