Sofyan Amrabat rejoins Youssef En-Nesyri at Fenerbahce

Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat joins Turkish Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe, where Youssef En-Nesyri also plays, on loan with a mandatory purchase option.

Sofyan Amrabat is currently on his way to Istanbul, where he is due to join Fenerbahçe, the giant with 19 Turkish league titles.

The 28-year-old midfielder joins the club coached by Portuguese José Mounriho, where Moroccan international striker Youssef En-Nesyri also plays.

After spending last season at Manchester United, on loan from Fiorentina, the player is again loaned for 2 million, except that his purchase option is mandatory, this time, and amounts to 13 million. There is also 2 million euros of bonus recoverable by the Italian club. He should then commit for a period of three years.

With this transfer, Fenerbahçe once again shows its ambition to become a dominant force in Turkey and on the European stage. The club, which has a rich domestic record with numerous Süper Lig titles, is looking to reconnect with past glory after several lackluster seasons. The arrival of Sofyan Amrabat could well be the missing piece of the puzzle, the one that will allow the club to return to the path of trophies and compete with historic rivals like Galatasaray and Beşiktaş.
