Soft toys have once again invaded Les Vernets

The plush operation so loved by Grenat supporters was back two years later. The evening was a great success with thousands of stuffed animals collected and a 3-2 victory following extra time once morest HC Bienne.

The concept is known to all: each supporter must bring a stuffed animal and throw it on the Vernets ice as soon as the Genève-Servette HC opens the score. All the comforters and other teddy bears collected will be sorted, washed, disinfected, then distributed by the Eagles players to the HUG children’s hospital.

In front of the 5600 supporters present at the ice rink this Saturday evening, it was Arnaud Riat who delivered his public following 17 minutes and 49 seconds. The Genevan becomes the first player in the history of the club to score two “soft goals”. A title which has now earned him a new nickname in the locker room: “the teddy bear”.

A precious victory

Led 2-1 until the last minute of regulation time, the Garnet leveled the mark at the very end of the match before dropping the shoulder in extra time. In the standings, Geneva is back ahead of Lausanne and is only four points behind Davos, defeated 3-2 at Ambri, or 0.1 point if we take the tables on points per game.
