New movie
Dear Friend is a film that embraces the changes that have taken place in Malayalam cinema and has a narrative and narrative background accordingly. The film features a new generation of actors, including Tovino and Basil, as well as writers including Suhas-Sharahu. I am coming to this film through Arjun Lal who acted as Mohanlal’s son in Thanmatra. He is the one who tells the story. When Suhas and Sharaf were called to write the film, they only came. Tovino–- Basil combination
Tovino and Basil play different characters than we have ever seen. Tovino was chosen for the film as the most suitable person for the role of Vinod. Consideration was given to the character beyond the actor. This is not the kind of character that Basil is usually seen in movies. It is a very complicated one. It has been accurately presented.

In the movies I do, I try to be a part of the script. I want to be with you from the very beginning of writing. Sometimes we can not present in the way the author writes. It’s also part of the script because we want the scenes to be the way we want them to be.

There was a great change in the language and style of Malayalam cinema. Once upon a time there was a lot of literature in cinema. Then there was the style of drama. Today all those methods have changed. Of natural acting. The film manages to entertain as well as inform. Movies with great actors and newcomers who are not stars and the characters they play are now well received. There was a great generational change in Malayalam cinema. Ego and privilege are gone. The foundation of a great friendship was laid.
Reflection of the period
The change in the society in each period will be reflected in the film and naturally. There has been a big change in Malayalam in terms of attitudes. The change in cinema in terms of anti-feminist discourse is also part of the debate in society. Old-fashioned movies can’t be torn apart now. At the same time, it is not right to justify the mistakes of history. We have a commitment as a director. Before we use anti-feminist or politically misleading discourse in film, think twice about whether it is necessary. Not all characters can be made into politically correct films. But do not use such a thing unnecessarily.
No more big breaks
After the first movie, Dear Front was thinking of some other projects. I was watching two movies. Fahad Fazil’s film was originally planned. All its writing took place. But when it was written, it did not come as expected. So it was postponed. Kovid later came across the pre-production work of a film. That’s how the seven-year hiatus came after the first film.
