Social infrastructure: one of the Government’s priorities through Public Works

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), works alongside the improvement of the road network, in social infrastructure works that will positively impact the population.

The Minister of the MOPC, Claudia Centurión, announced the progress in this regard during the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

This May, works worth USD 20 million will be put out to tender for the development of the urbanization of the Nuevo Barrio Bañado Tacumbú in Asunción, to later build 1,500 housing solutions for the residents.

Likewise, the delivery of the Great Hospital of Coronel Oviedo is planned, whose infrastructure will allow offering a highly complex service, providing outpatient and hospitalization services in basic specialties, subspecialties and others. You will have critical care, diagnostic support and treatments that respond to your resolution capacity.

The delivery of the Great Hospital of the South is also estimated, which will have an area for an imaging laboratory, medical laboratories, operating rooms for obstetrics and gynecology, a medical clinic and emergencies, which adds up to a large sector. It will be assigned to the intensive care area, in addition to patient isolation rooms, dialysis rooms, oncology and general services. Also planned is a morgue and administrative pharmacies, medical services, kitchen, all divided by floors and blocks.

Centurión also highlighted that the “First Emblematic Schools Program” project is in its final stage, to be implemented in each capital of the country, as part of the adequate infrastructure for education in Paraguay.
