The government is fine-tuning its anti-tax and social fraud plan, which should be detailed in the coming weeks. Objective: to apply popular measures while bailing out the State and Social Security coffers. As the announcement of a plan that will target both “fraud from above and fraud from below” approaches, Gabriel Attal, Minister of Public Accounts, distills new measures and major objectives.

Latest announcement to date: Bercy will set a very ambitious goal for Urssaf in terms of adjustments on social security contribution fraud. Heard on Wednesday by deputies on the government’s stability program, he indicated that he was aiming for “5 billion in adjustments over the duration of the five-year term”, compared to 3.5 billion euros adjusted over 2018-2022. While the adjustments reached 788 million last year, the target to be reached in 2027 will thus be raised to 1.4 billion euros, a substantial increase in load.
