Sassari director Fabiana Miccio wins the Social Cinema and Civil Commitment Award, Student Project category, at the Cefalù Film Festival. His documentary “Bruno Petretto – A life for art” was appreciated by the jury. The film tells the story of a Sardinian farmer, breeder and artist.
The award was awarded “for the film’s extraordinary ability to tell a life immersed in nature and art. Bruno Petretto, farmer, breeder, actor and artist, emerges as a unique figure, capable of living in profound symbiosis with the landscape that surrounds him, using natural elements as essential components of his works. The documentary sensitively captures the intimate bond between man and the Molineddu Arts Park, a magical place where art harmoniously intertwines with nature, creating a poetic and universal dialogue”.
Born in Sassari in 1994, Fabiana Miccio graduated in 2023 from the Mario Sironi Academy of Fine Arts directed by Daniele Dore and continued her studies specializing in Documentary Cinematography. Always passionate about photography and video, she began her career working on short films and feature films, including “Il Portiere Notturno” (2023) and “La delivering” (2024), before dedicating herself to making the documentary on Bruno Petretto.
“We welcome the news of this prestigious award with great pleasure – comments Daniele Dore – Fabiana is a multifaceted student and sensitive to social issues, and her documentary represents an example of how artistic creativity can reveal otherwise unknown stories. We wish her a rich career of satisfactions and successes like this.”
