The life of Levi Dewey changed forever. The young man, a footballer and who had a healthy life, went to the Royal Derby hospital in the United Kingdom in December 2022 presenting flu symptoms.
That’s when everything got worse for Levi. His life began to be in danger when heHe went into septic shock and suffered multiple organ failure. The incredulous doctors, following multiple tests, verified that the origin of the young man’s suffering was due to the influenza B virus and pneumococcal pneumonia.
However, the problem did not end there. The Briton’s health continued to worsenso he was taken to Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. In that health center she received ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and full support for her organs.

After 20 days of treatment, 14 of them in an induced coma, the support for his organs was withdrawn. After 31 days, doctors they proceeded to remove one of his breathing fans.
A couple of days later, the young footballer was once once more taken to the Royal Derby for continued care. However, just 48 hours later, he was informed that both legs had to be amputated due to his critical situation, Clarín reviewed.
Despite that dark moment, the young man remains positive. Despite this news, Levi remains optimistic regarding his future. He is very grateful to be alive following these life-changing events for him.”his family said.
