Soccer: Bayer Leverkusen win Bundesliga for first time – breaks Bayern Munich’s streak

Xabi Alonso, the former Spanish midfield star, has led Bayer Leverkusen to a sensational season.

With the 42-year-old coach, the team has not lost a single time in 29 league games and with five rounds left to play, the league title is already secured.

After Sunday’s 5-0 victory once morest Werder Bremen, it is clear that Leverkusen will win the Bundesliga for the first time.

In connection with the home team’s last two goals, the crowd stormed onto the field and wild scenes of joy unfolded following the referee blew the match off.

In doing so, they break German giant Bayern Munich’s monster streak of eleven straight league titles.
