Health Minister Johannes Rauch announced this on Friday during the Federal Council’s question time.
In most cases – 316 times – a one-off lump sum compensation was granted. 78 people receive a temporary or ongoing pension payment.
According to Rauch, a total of around 21 million Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in Austria, 615,000 of which were in the last vaccination season since autumn 2023. This would have prevented around 25,000 deaths. The minister put the number of vaccine doses destroyed because the expiry date was exceeded at 17.8 million.
According to Rauch, a Corona compensation fund based on the model of Lower Austria, as put forward for discussion by the FPÖ, is not planned.
