Snowstorms from coast to coast of the country will cause the “coldest Christmas in years” in more than 20 states, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
on the west coastthe snow will have the greatest impact in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana.

The La Niña phenomenon, which is affecting the climate of this winter season, it will cause intense arctic cold in states like California, Texas and Florida.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service’s federal Weather Prediction Center and AccuWeather warn of potential travel hazards these holidaysdue to slippery roads and poor visibility at some points.
For this reason, it is suggested to plan in advance the trips to meet with the family, in the event of possible emergencies due to the weather that will worsen on Wednesday and with effects until Sunday.
Temperatures will not be higher than 20 degrees Fahrenheit in some states, but in some counties and cities, such as Nashville, Tennesseefive degrees are expected.
“We’re looking at temperatures well below normal, potentially record low temperatures before the Christmas holidays,” said Zack Taylor, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Although the snow will not reach the entire country, rains are expected in several entities and in combination with the low temperatures will cause slippery floors.
In the Big Apple, there are 8,153 employees on alert for possible emergencies, according to the local government ahead of its winter preparations.
