“After six amazing years together, I finally had the courage to ask my girl to marry me and most importantly, she said yes! We’ve been through so many different ups and downs together in our sports and personal lives and I mightn’t ask for anything better than having you by my side,” Payer wrote on his Instagram channel below the video.

The past season was very successful for the couple. Payer won the bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom at the 2023 World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia. His fiancee won bronze in the parallel slalom and silver in the mixed team at the world championships. In terms of the number of World Cup victories, Schöffmann is clearly ahead of Payer, who has triumphed twice in his career so far.
Another winter sports couple, on the other hand, has split up. Anne Kjersti Kalva and Didrik Tönseth will go their separate ways in the future. The two cross-country skiers from Norway were long regarded as one of the dream couples in their profession. (smr)
