Winner of the last Globe in the discipline, Julie Zogg won a podium in the first parallel slalom of the 2022/23 World Cup. The St-Galloise finished 2nd in Winterberg.
The 2019 world champion in the specialty lost 0”17 to Austrian Sabine Schöffmann on Sunday in the final. She thus offers herself a 28th podium in the World Cup on an individual level, slalom and giant combined.
3 other Swiss women took part in the knockout phase. Jessica Keiser (6th) was taken out in the quarter-finals, while Patrizia Kummer (11th) and Ladina Jenny (13th) failed in the 8th finals. Among the men, only Dario Caviezel (8th) passed the qualifying pitfall. He stopped in quarters.
Victory in the team parallel slalom
The season had started the day before in an ideal way for Swiss alpine riders. The Gian Casanova/Ladina Jenny duo won the team parallel slalom, a discipline that is not on the Olympic programme, taking advantage of the disqualification of the Austrians Andreas Prommegger/Daniela Ulbing in the final.
