Yasuyuki Odaproducer at SNKhad an interesting conversation with the portal ‘The Gamer’ regarding the interest within the company to expand the fighting video game genre.
The conversation took place while they were testing the new update that came to King of Fighters 15. Oda was asked about what he thought of the success that video games like MultiVersus have had, and this he said:
«I think the more success stories there are in the genre, the more it helps put the wind in everyone’s sails.«. Likewise, he was very happy that a «rising tide» has managed to raise all the banks and that people can enjoy all the games.

In that sense, the producer of King of Fighters 15 was more than interested in being able to address different styles within fighting games; Taking the example of Smash Bros.
«I am definitely interested. In fact, I think KoF as a series has a lot of potential. It’s the all-star crossover game that started it all before Smash Bros, so there’s some interesting potential to add more to it.«.
SNK is very keen to stay well positioned within the fighting game genre as it used to be. Not long ago, they also showed interest in reviving the series’SNK vs Capcom‘.
