The scene of recurring land conflicts, Essassa, a booming locality located 23 km from Libreville, will experience on August 7, 2024, a vast land regularization campaign called: “Essassa Ma Terre”, initiated by the National Real Estate Company (SNI), following the firm instructions of the President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
The operation aims to facilitate access to property for Gabonese people, particularly those residing on the SNI land title in Essassa. It will involve securing the right to property for local populations “while mitigating land conflicts that may arise from situations of legal insecurity.”
“By issuing official land titles, the SNI aims to provide land stability to residents and strengthen the sense of security among potential owners,” a statement said.
To successfully carry out this program with a strong social dimension, which materializes the commitment of the President of the Republic, the SNI calls on local authorities and local residents to collaborate frankly. It thus invites “those concerned to go to its headquarters, located in Likouala, to plan site visits, an essential step before the granting of land titles.”
“Through this initiative, the SNI reaffirms its mission of supporting Gabonese people towards broader and more secure access to land ownership, in line with the vision of the country’s authorities,” specifies the specialized state company responsible for implementing housing and habitat policies in Gabon.
