Snekkestad’s legal aid lawyer asks the police to call in Crown Princess Mette-Marit for questioning

Høiby is under investigation for several matters and is, among other things, accused of abuse in close relationships against Snekkestad, with whom he was a lover and cohabitant from 2018 to 2022.

Both Høiby and Snekkestad have been in several interviews with the police in recent weeks.

– The evidence situation in the case is such that we believe it is only natural that we get her explanation now. I think it would actually be unnatural if she doesn’t answer questions from the police. An explanation from the crown princess will, in my opinion, shed new light on the case against her son, says assistant lawyer Petter J. Grødem to Aftenposten.

The police confirm

Grødem says he has sent a formal petition to the Oslo police district that Crown Princess Mette-Marit should be questioned in the case. He had received no response on Monday.

Oslo police district confirms to NTB that the petition from Grødem has been received.

– We can confirm that we have received it. Beyond that, we have no comment on it as of now, press manager Unni Grøndal writes to NTB.

Motanklage

Høiby denies criminal guilt following the charge of ill-treatment against Snekkestad. He, in turn, has accused her of violence.

– Høiby turns the mirror completely, and my client will explain herself to the police if she is called in to explain his accusations against her. Accusations she completely distances herself from, says Grødem to Aftenposten.
