The SNCF had only anticipated “slight disruptions” in advance. She confirmed it this Tuesday, on the eve of a strike launched in particular by the CGT during annual negotiations aimed at revising salaries. In a message published on its website, the company explains that “train traffic will be slightly disrupted on the SNCF network on Wednesday November 8 due to a national social movement. »
Without giving further details, and in particular the number of TGV, TER or Transiliens circulating on average on each axis, the SNCF simply refers users to SNCF.Connect to ensure that their train is well insured.
A salary increase requested
The CGT sees the opening of annual negotiations this Wednesday as a good opportunity to call a strike. “If a thaw in salaries was obtained by the railway workers’ strike during salary negotiations in 2022, the increases were not sufficient to improve their living conditions,” justifies the union, demanding in a statement a “return of the indexation of wages to prices”.
The CGT wants “a general increase in wages of 12%”. “Railway workers are bearing the brunt of the explosion in the prices of energy, food products, telephone plans, Internet… while at the same time, SNCF management is posting record profits,” continues the union in its press release. The group achieved a turnover of 41.4 billion euros in 2022, an unprecedented level, for profits of 2.4 billion euros.
