After a massively followed strike by SNCF controllers last weekend, the switchers in turn quickly raised the threat of a new mobilization for February 23 and 24. Enough to worry travelers, this weekend being common to all three zones, with the departure on vacation from zone B.
“Traffic will be normal”
They too are demanding an increase, recruitment and improvement of their working conditions. However, the SNCF wants to be reassuring, this Tuesday, regarding the importance of the upcoming movement and ensures that “at this stage, traffic will be normal next weekend”, without being able to give more details at this time. The Sud-Rail union which issued the notice did not respond to our requests.
“This notice follows our request for immediate consultation filed on January 19 which gave rise to the consultation meeting which was held on January 22…”declared Sunday in a press release, Sud-Rail addressing the management of SNCF Réseau. “It turns out that no agreement might be found on the various subjects on which we alerted you”. The demands of the switchers are essentially the same as the controllers: “An increase in the operational traffic allowance to the tune of 300 euros per month”, “the implementation of massive hiring” or even “the implementation of less pathogenic shifts”.
On the social network “still no negotiation in perspective on the side of SNCF Réseau. In the next few hours, we must increase the balance of power.”
