SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou to receive Order of Honor in Ukraine

Recognition abroad. SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou will be awarded the Order of Merit of Ukraine, according to a decree issued this week by the Ukrainian president.

Jean-Manuel Hue, SNCF’s director of external relations, stressed that the medal is a reward for the “long-term dedication of railway worker Jean-Pierre Farandou.”

Other French people must decorate

The company transported Ukrainian refugees to their destinations free of charge and housed hundreds of refugees in its properties in February 2022. The trains also delivered basic necessities and civil protection to Ukraine.

The public group has also been sending cold weather equipment and railroad tools to Ukrainian railway workers throughout the year.

Ukraine must also grant the Minister of Armed Forces, Pierre Heilbronn, Emmanuel Macron’s special envoy for economic aid and reconstruction, Nicolas Renan, head of the Ukraine bloc, and dozens of Swedish, American, Japanese or Czech officials.

The government announced on May 7 that Jean-Pierre Farandou will step down as president of SNCF after the Paris Paralympics.
