SNCB has installed taps in six stations where travelers can fill their bottles with filtered water free of charge. By the end of next year, the railway company will offer this service in around 100 stations, it said in a press release on Friday.
Travelers at Bruges, Brussels-Luxembourg, Ghent-Saint-Pierre, Kortrijk, Ostend and Liège-Guillemins stations can already obtain free water supplies. The Charleroi-Central and Ottignies stations, among others, will follow in the coming weeks. Ultimately, 80% of train passengers will have access to free drinking water, specifies SNCB.
