The world’s largest mobile esports league teams up with leading game developers to enable new ways to compete and increases total prize pool to almost $4.4 million

“The level of investment we are seeing from developers and the exponential growth of the Snapdragon Pro Series underscores why mobile gaming is the future of esports.” said Sam Braithwaite, vice president of mobile gaming ecosystems at SPS. “We are proud to continue our work with Qualcomm Technologies at the forefront of competition and technology to enable more players to be part of tournaments.”

The continued growth of the ecosystem follows a successful second year for SPS, which saw nearly 1 billion matches played (representing a 13,200% increase over the previous year) for 4.4 million subscribers across Asia, America North, Latin America and Europe. The esports competition also gave fans more opportunities to watch games, with more than 23.7 million hours watched (231% increase from Year 1). The growth was anchored in several new developments, such as the introduction of Latin America as a competitive region, events in stadiums in India and Indonesia and the integration of the global Call of Duty©: Mobile circuit.

Year 3 Overview

The Snapdragon Pro Series Year 3 roadmap includes a list of global competitions, starting with April’s Mobile Open across all games and ending with Mobile Masters in 2025. The crowning moment of the year brings the newly added game ‘Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’ (MLBB) for Southeast Asia – where mobile game consumption has doubled in the last four years. SPS already has a successful track record in the region, with the June 2023 MLBB tournaments attracting over 1 million viewers and breaking attendance records.

In addition, Year 3 will see the expansion of partnerships with MOONTON Games, developer of MLBB, and Supercell, developer of Brawl Stars, and will also feature the return of the Call of Duty©: Mobile competitive circuit for Snapdragon Pro Series for another year promoting opportunities for fans to watch, compete and win in three of the most popular mobile games.

Details of major game updates with Snapdragon Pro Series

Through a multi-year partnership with Supercell, Snapdragon Pro Series will be the global operator of the Brawl Stars Championship, bringing the competition to players in more than 190 countries, with matches already underway. The ecosystem will host a qualifier in August, offering players more ways to qualify for the World Finals later in the year.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang: In partnership with MOONTON Games, MLBB will return to the Snapdragon Pro Series with all new competitions. Mobile Open tournaments begin on April 8th in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia, and will provide a path for top teams to reach international championships such as Mobile Masters and the Esports World Cup . The circuit will also include its first tournament for women. The online championship invites players from Southeast Asia to face each other for the chance to qualify for the MLBB Women’s Invitational at the Esports World Cup.

Garena Free Fire: for the first time, teams participating in the Snapdragon Pro Series Garena Free Fire will fight for a place in the Esports World Cup.

The Mobile Open starts in Latin America in 2024.

Clash of Clans: This summer, the SPS Clash of Clans competition will be integrated with the Last Chance Qualifier. With a channel to the game’s World Championship, the international circuit will give fans more opportunities to compete at a high level.

Call of Duty©: Mobile: In collaboration with Activision Publishing, Inc, the Call of Duty©: Mobile circuit will return for the Snapdragon Pro Series in Year 3, giving players around the world more opportunity to compete on the global stage. Full details for seasons 5 and 6 of the competition will be shared in the coming weeks.
