SNAP Program Sends Food Stamps Last Week of August

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) continues to provide financial assistance to its 3.4 million beneficiaries in Texas. Each month, deposits are made directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts.

If you still have questions about the application process, you should know that in Texas, the average approval period is 30 days. Don’t forget that with the so-called “food stamps” you can buy food, such as fresh produce, meats and dairy products.

Meanwhile, it is prohibited to purchase non-food items such as fuel, tobacco or alcohol with SNAP coupons.

Next SNAP payment

According to the established payment schedule, SNAP benefits in Texas are distributed between the 1st and 28th of each month. This distribution is based on the beneficiary’s Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number associated with each household. This ensures an organized and efficient delivery of the money.

The SNAP program in the Far West reminds that benefits cannot be sent more than 40 days after the previous issuance. For example, families with applications certified more than 40 days before the scheduled mailing date have an initial adjustment period. This will be until their benefits align with the scheduled monthly benefit issuance date.

This is the payment schedule. You can see the last two digits of the EDG and the corresponding payment day.
