SNAP payment dates for this week 2024-07-16 11:17:39

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) continues to send its payments for the month of July. This financial aid allows beneficiaries to cover their basic food needs.

The SNAP program deposits money each month onto Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards. This works such as a debit card that SNAP members use to access their benefits.

If you are a SNAP recipient, you can purchase eligible foods at authorized retail outlets. These include fruits, vegetables, bread, cereal, dairy products, meats, fish, poultry, and non-alcoholic beverages.

SNAP payments also cover the purchase of seeds and plants that produce food for consumption.

The EBT card cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco products, vitamins, medications, hot prepared foods or in-store items.

In Texas, SNAP eligibility is determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Applicants must meet income and resource guidelines based on household size and age.

As for requirements, you should know that your gross monthly income must be equal to or less than 130% of the federal poverty level.

Net income must be at or below 100%. Households with an elderly or disabled member have higher income limits.

Finally, income from bank accounts must not exceed $2,750 USD, or $4,250 USD if the household includes an elderly or disabled person.
