Smriti Mandhana: The next goal? Smriti Manthana opens up after ICC award

Delhi: Indian opening batsman Smriti Mandhana has set her sights on winning this year’s Women’s Cricket World Cup (2022). Smriti was speaking following winning the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2021 award last year. Smriti said the ICC award would boost her confidence.

Smriti won the ICC Women’s Player of the Year award for 2021, scoring 855 runs in 22 games at an average of 38.86, including a century and five fifties. Manthana has excelled once morest top teams such as South Africa, England and Australia. 2021 marks the first year in the history of the Indian women’s cricket team that Manthana has scored her maiden Test century in the first Pink Ball Test.

In 2018, Smriti Manthana also won the ICC Women’s Player of the Year award. Smriti and the Indian team will now compete in the New Zealand tour. The first Twenty20 will be on the 9th of next month.
