Warner Bros. Games releases the new “Lin Kuei” trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 unveils two new Kombatants: Smoke and Rain.
Warner Bros. Games today unveiled a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1the next installment of the popular video game franchise developed by NetherRealm Studios. This trailer features Smoke and Rain, two new playable characters that enrich the game’s main roster.
Smoke is a member of the Lin Kuei clan, the same as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, the two heroes of this new Mortal Kombat universe. An expert in stealth, Smoke uses his ability to hide in mist to surprise his opponents and eliminate them with his retractable blades. Smoke is loyal to his Lin Kuei brothers and shares their mission to defend the Earthrealm from outside threats.
Rain is the High Mage of the Underworld, a mysterious and dangerous realm where dark magic reigns. Rain is proficient in water magic, which he uses to create waves, geysers, or thunderstorms during fights. Rain is ambitious and power-hungry, and he seeks to learn the kingdoms darkest and most powerful secrets.
The trailer also shows us images of Sektor, Cyrax, Frost and Scorpion, Kameo Kombatants who can intervene during fights to help the player with their special abilities. Mortal Kombat 1 features a wide array of legendary Kombatants including Liu Kang, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Kenshi and many more, along with a new story that revisits the Mortal Kombat saga with a fresh perspective .
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 19, 2023. Players who pre-order the game will receive Shang Tsung as a playable in-game character, and those who pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S will also have access to the closed beta, which will be available in August 2023 (at participating resellers).
