When the iconic Italian refrigerator meets star champagne. Smeg has indeed unveiled limited editions of its FAB28 and FAB10 refrigerators to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Veuve Clicquot winery, called Champagne Maison and established since 1772.
While the FAB28 is Smeg’s signature full-size fridge, the nearly silent 970 x 545mm FAB10 is an ideal champagne chiller. For this edition, the two are obviously adorned with a surprisingly brilliant Veuve Clicquot yellow.
This isn’t the first time Smeg has teamed up with other brands for limited-edition products, having collaborated with Disney, Coca Cola, Dolce & Gabbana and Mini. There’s also the rather insane £10,000 Fiat 500 drinks fridge. This latest launch is part of Veuve Clicquot’s “Icons” project, working with other iconic products to celebrate the anniversary.
The largest fridge holds 54 standard champagne bottles and comes with metal racks so you can store and display your champagne at its best. Of course, this limited series comes at prices significantly above the standard Smeg range – the FAB10 sells for €2500 and the FAB28 sells for €3500 although they are not as expensive as the Dolce & Gabbana products that Smeg has already offered, some of which have even been painted by hand.
These two Smeg / Veuve Clicquot refrigerators will be available from next November.
