Chinese company ZTE has already announced that it will launch the world’s first mass-produced smartphone with an under-display camera on September 1, with the selfie camera mounted inside the display.
Now the first glimpse has also surfaced which has been released by the company itself, which gives an idea of what the phone’s screen will look like without the front camera.
These glimpses or sketches of the phone called Axon 2 5G were shared by Nai Fei, president of ZTE’s mobile devices division, on Chinese social media site Weibo.
In the image above, it can be seen that there is no hole punch or notch on the front screen of the phone and a completely bezel-less screen is visible.
Nai Fei also shared another image on Weibo that shows what the screen without the camera looks like when it’s powered on.
When powered on, the phone has no bezels, just a thin line at the bottom.
ZTE isn’t the first company to work on a phone based on an in-display camera.
This technology is also being worked on by Oppo and Xiaomi, but it is not yet clear if these cameras will work in the same way that other phones’ selfie cameras work.
According to leaks, the selfie camera hidden inside the screen in the ZTE Axon 20 will be 32 megapixels, while the back will have 2, 2 megapixel sensors with 64 and 8 megapixel cameras.
Apart from this, 2.4 GHz processor, 6, 8 and 12 GB of RAM, 64, 128 and 256 GB of storage and a 4120 mAh battery are also likely to be given.
The price of the phone is currently hard to tell but ZTE’s devices tend to be cheaper than other companies.
Along with this announcement by ZTE, another Chinese company, Huawei, also reported a smartphone equipped with all-screen fingerprint sensor technology and an under-display camera.
