Driven by the multi-equipment of homes with digital devices, photography has become an addiction for the French. Between the irrepressible need to capture every moment and photos that have fallen into oblivion, here is what the French do with their photos, according to a study carried out by OpinionWay.
French people addicted to photos. Unlike other features found on newer smartphones, the camera is anything but a gimmick in the eyes of users. On the contrary, it even allows them to fight once morest Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) by becoming an essential tool for many French people to capture every moment of everyday life. 52% of French people might not do without their camera for more than a month, according to a study published this Thursday, October 5 and which CNEWS obtained in advance.
But what do the French do with their photos? According to a study carried out by OpinionWay for Honor with a sample of 1,524 people aged 16 to 50, almost one in two French people share their photos instantly with their loved ones, while 32% publish them on social networks in the stride. Furthermore, 45% like to watch them when they are alone, 18% print them to send to loved ones, and 15% make online albums.
81% of French people forced to delete photos
Still according to this study, 81% are forced to delete photos from their phone to save storage space. And for good reason, 77% of French people have already asked themselves why “they took this or that photo that they now consider to be of no interest”, and 71% of them keep failed photos. Finally, 64% have already taken a photo even though they already have the same or almost the same photo on their phone.
On an aesthetic level, 85% of French people value the beauty of their photos. However, 17% believe they do not have the eye to spot what might make good photos, while 11% admit to not knowing how to frame correctly. 83% of French people finally admit that they sometimes miss photos taken with their smartphone.
Ultimately, the telephone and more particularly its camera is therefore a real extension of the eye for a majority of French people. Most of those surveyed even say that they are willing to sacrifice time to capture the shot they want, and only 2% of French people never use their camera.
