On the sidelines of the first edition of “SMART Tourism Day”, three agreements were signed between SMART Tourisme (previously SDR-TPME tourism), the CRI Souss-Massa, Attijariwafa bank and the Open Tourisme Lab.
It was in the presence of 250 participants representing the tourism ecosystem that the first edition of “SMART Tourism Day” was held on Tuesday in Agadir to stimulate entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. This international conference-forum, dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of tourism, was crowned by the signing of three agreements. This concerns first of all the framework agreement concluded between, on the one hand, the Regional Development Company for the promotion of Very Small, Small and Medium-sized tourist businesses Souss-Massa and on the other hand, the Souss-Massa regional investment center. This agreement concerns the support and accompaniment of tourism SMEs in the Souss-Massa region, through joint actions for the benefit of tourism project leaders from programs launched by SMART. Tourism or the CRI-SM. It also involves the design and implementation of joint programs aimed at promoting tourism investment and encouraging innovative projects, specific to the territories of the region as well as the creation of tourism SMEs.
Support for tourist SMEs
The second agreement was signed between SMART Tourisme (Souss-Massa Accompagnement et Reinforcement des TPME) and the Attijariwafa bank with a view to supporting, modernizing and structuring Tourist SMEs. It also aims to benefit project leaders selected as part of the SMART support program. Tourism of the Dar Al Moukawil information space, through its two components, documentary and digital. It is also a question of supporting project leaders with dedicated advisors, providing them with appropriate information supports and directing them towards dedicated structures that can support tourism SMEs in their approach. Concerning the third agreement with the OTL, it concerns the support and modernization of Tourist SMEs and the establishment of arrangements for the exchange of employees. The objective is to share and pool skills between the two entities while identifying cooperation opportunities and strengthening synergies between them in order to offer joint services.
SMART tourism program: around a hundred projects selected
Speaking at the opening of this first edition of SMART tourism Day, Hassan Aboutayeb, general director of the SDR TPE – SME tourism Souss-Massa (SMART tourism) underlined that “this international conference-forum aims to explore the opportunities and challenges facing the tourism sector, in constant evolution, while highlighting the men and women of the sector, whether they are entrepreneurs, project leaders, investors, who shape the future of tourism in the Souss-Massa region “. In this perspective, “it is fundamental to rely on the strength of the collective to co-build the tourism of tomorrow. In fact, our program already supports nearly a hundred project creators or existing entrepreneurs in several areas. It will allow them to subsequently receive investment bonuses and subsidies in order to participate in boosting regional economic development,” adds Hassan Aboutayeb. Furthermore, it should be noted that the Regional Development Company for the promotion of Very Small, Small and Medium-sized tourist businesses Souss-Massa has changed its name to become “SMART Tourism”.
