The van with a foreign number plate was checked by the police around 9 a.m. on Rudolfstrasse in Urfahr. Children were among the people being dragged. The police might not give further details for the time being.
In a press release, Linz City Security Councilor Michael Raml (FPÖ) sent an unpixelated image of the police operation, showing people crowded together – including quite a few children – on the loading area of the van. “Despite the federal government’s prayer wheel-like assurances that it is taking action once morest illegal mass migration, people smugglers still seem to feel too safe in Austria and even come as far as Linz,” Raml said in his broadcast. He also referred to the arrest of 19 dragged people just last Friday in Puchenau. The “marriage of secure borders” has been “refuted from afar.”
