WhatsApp will soon allow its users to juggle multiple accounts on the same device. Currently being tested on the Android app beta, the feature will likely roll out in the coming weeks.
In mid-June, we mentioned the upcoming arrival of a long-awaited feature on WhatsApp: multi-account. An option that allows, as its name suggests, to manage multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device. Today we learn that the day when users will be able to enjoy it is approaching.
Indeed, the very knowledgeable WABetaInfo indicates that the feature has just been rolled out to the beta version of the Android app. In other words, messaging is starting to test multi-accounting on a large scale.
Juggle between two accounts with a single click
Managing multiple WhatsApp accounts should therefore soon become commonplace. For now, however, only a restricted group of users have this privilege. According to a screenshot taken by WABetaInfothe steps to add a second account seem quite simple.
Concretely, just press the arrow icon above, right next to the QR code function, to create or link a secondary account. The same menu also allows users to switch from one to the other without difficulty. Something to delight more than one professional, since that’s where the challenge lies.
Technically, having a second WhatsApp account is already possible. However, the method involves going through WhatsApp business or, in some cases, using an app clone function. Either way, the end result forces the user to juggle between two different applications. By offering multi-accounting, WhatsApp puts an end to the problem and allows everyone to separate their private life from their professional life.
As usual, the feature is expected to gradually roll out to other beta testers’ devices in the coming weeks. Before, finally, becoming available to the general public.
