The model NUC14RVH is equipped with an Intel U7-165H vPro processor, DDR5 8GB x2 memory, PCIe Gen4 512GB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E 2×2, Bluetooth 5.3, and other impressive specifications. It also offers excellent expandability; you can install an additional 2.5” SATA SSD/HDD, replace or add another M.2 SSD, and add two dual-channel SO-DIMM DDR5 memory modules.

The ASUS NUC 14 Pro comes in two versions: a thin version and a larger upright version. This unboxing and review will focus on the upright variant. It is the first NUC model featuring a tool-free chassis disassembly design, allowing users to replace the SSD and access the memory without needing tools like screwdrivers, which is quite convenient!

Upon removing the top cover, the ASUS NUC 14 Pro is visible, secured with paper plastic.


Removing the ASUS NUC 14 Pro from the packaging, which is secured with paper plastic, reveals additional packaging material at the bottom. This material not only organizes and secures other accessories but also provides collision buffering functionality.

Due to the European Union’s plastic restriction policy and the increasing focus of major manufacturers on corporate ESG, we observe that brands like ASUS are adopting more innovative and environmentally-friendly packaging designs than in the past. The ASUS NUC 14 Pro features reduced materials, minimal packaging, and lower storage needs to save space and energy while promoting sustainability.

Since the ASUS NUC 14 Pro utilizes the Intel U7-165H processor, the system’s power consumption is low, allowing a 120W transformer to meet its power supply requirements, which is quite energy-efficient! The transformer adheres to multiple national safety certifications and is notably compact.

It also includes a metal frame and screws for wall mounting, along with an Intel Core Ultra 7 sticker.

Although the ASUS NUC 14 Pro is compact, it offers a complete range of connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and built-in USB 2.0 connectors. This makes it not only adequate but also efficient enough to support more than four 4K monitors!

Disassembling the base is very straightforward. Here, you can see the heat sink installed for the SSD and the mounting bracket for the SSD/HDD (compatible with SATA 2.5-inch storage devices).

The product dimensions are 117 x 112 x 54 mm (0.7L), and the weight without memory and M.2 SSD is 570g (barebone). The test model weighs 626g (including the two memory modules and one 22×80 M.2 SSD pictured above).

First, let’s review the main component configuration of the system. From top to bottom, the key components include the brand ASUS, model NUC14RVB, Windows 11 Professional operating system, Intel Core Ultra 7 165H processor, Intel ARC graphics chip, 16GB of memory, and a Samsung 512GB SSD.

First, we will test the processor’s performance.~


First, we used CPU-Z to detect the processor information; we can see that the processor is named Intel Core Ultra 7 165H, with the code name Meteor Lake, built on a 7nm process, featuring 6P + 8E + 2LP cores (a total of 22 threads). The total L3 cache is 24MB, and the maximum power consumption is 28W, comparable to the Tiger Lake Intel Core i5-1135G7, indicating excellent energy efficiency.

Through CPU-Z tests, the processor achieved a high score of 768.7 in single-core performance and an outstanding score of 7826.2 in multi-threaded tasks, significantly outperforming the Core i5-1135G7 with equivalent power consumption!


Next, we will check the speed of the configured SSD. The read speed reached 4901 MB/s, while the write speed reached 2692 MB/s, adequately meeting the data storage speed requirements for most users!

Next, we will test graphics performance.~

In the Fire Strike benchmark test, the score reached 6930 points.


In the Intel XeSS benchmark test, enabling the function yielded 14.22 FPS, an improvement of 1.67 times.

When the Mesh Shader test was run, the function enabled produced 96.26 FPS, showing a 1.96 times improvement.

Finally, let’s assess the overall performance of the system to find out whether it meets the needs of most users for document processing and video editing! We will utilize PCMARK 10 to evaluate performance in commonly used computer scenarios.
