Noé Lebreton grew up in La Haye-Pesnel in the Manche department. it was there that he touched his first soccer balls before being a sports intern at the Pierre Aguiton college in Brécey.
Avranches player from the U9s, he joined the pre-training of the SM Caen and since this summer he has managed to find a place in the pro Caen group (four appearances in the group).
He was a regional athletics champion.
“I’ve been in Sport since I was little. I did Football and Athletics at the same time at the beginning. And then I had to make a choice because it was getting a little more serious.
I mainly did cross country, over long distances. I made the championships of France UNSS and others. I had a good little level (smile). I ended up regional champion. As it is my passion, I chose football. In my eyes, it is the best sport in the world.”
He has always played away and has yet to score a pt with the Pros
After having had his first appearance in Ligue 2 at Rodez (2-0), Noé made two comebacks this season at Le Havre (2-1) and Grenoble (1-0). He had three losses. “It’s true, that’s what I noticed. Let’s say I’m unlucky. I would like to come back and have the victory at the end. It would be better for me and better for the team .”
He has not yet played in an official match at d’Ornano either. “If I have to go back to d’Ornano or outside, it’s the same for me relativizes Noah. Afterwards, playing at home in front of our supporters would be wonderful. As soon as you arrive at the Training Center, you have this objective of playing with the professionals at d’Ornano. When you come to see them play every other weekend, it makes you want to play when you get up to it.”
He must improve his resistance to duels… and his left foot
“My left foot is average (smile), I can improve. The coach tells me that with a laugh because we are both aware of it. On Thursdays, for example, we have a bit of a choice of sessions. I will rather orient myself towards passing game, long and short game but above all use the left foot. At the beginning of the session also, during the warm-up, I use the left foot. I force myself to use it so that become a habit.”
He has Senegalese roots through his mother….
“I have a dual culture. My mother is Senegalese and brings her slightly African culture. My dad is from Avranches and brings his French culture. It’s good. It brings me diversity and I know more than things.”
Could he choose to play in the Senegalese selection if he were called up one day? “I don’t ask myself the question now following that remains a possibility in due course. It does not cross my mind at the moment.”
…and he chose her jersey number for her
“I chose number 20 because my mum was born on December 20. So I wanted to give her a little dedication by taking her number. It’s a little sign of attention for my mum. When I I took this number when I signed pro, she came for the photo. She saw that. She was happy.”
